Prescription for Insanity
In a very good column in the current Weekly Standard, Noemie Emery looks at the Democrats' January "week (and a half) from hell." In a period of ten days, four huge embarrassments swept the party like a tsunami. These Emery outlines as follows:
(1) Barbara Boxer and allies assault Condi Rice.
(2) Ted Kennedy calls Iraq Vietnam.
(3) Evan Bayh joins the jihad.
(4) John Kerry goes on Meet the Press.
She analyzes each of these missteps in detail. It leaves one to wonder whether Karl Rove is really operating behind the scenes, as the conspiracy-minded are inclined to think!
